California Highway Patrol Information
Scanning Central & Northern California Frequencies
Last Updated: 06/16/04
The following guides give detailed information about each of the eight divisions. The information includes office as well as frequency information. For most communications CHP uses a base/mobile pair of frequencies to communicate. However, this system is poorly designed and half the time CHP traffic can be heard from mobiles on 154.905Mhz. For offices without the mobile frequency listed, the base frequency acts like a repeater system where mobiles can be heard.
Northern Division - NorCal
Valley Division - Sacramento Valley
Golden Gate Division - Bay Area
Central Division - San Joaquin Valley
Southern Division - Los Angeles Area
Border Division - San Diego / Orange Area
Coastal Division - Central Coast
Inland Division - Riverside Area
The following guide is a complete list that contains tactical CHP frequencies as well as mobile extender frequencies and PL tones for each of the divisions. I've also included a complete list of the CHP colors and the corresponding frequency.
