155.4000 - Medical Ambulance
Solano dispatches for Suisun PD on their channel (155.4900) from 2300 Hrs till 0700 Hrs. Monday through Friday. Then on Saturday and Sunday they dispatch for Suisun PD on their channel from 2300 Hrs till 1100 Hrs. When there is a major incident working where Suisun PD officers are not involved they will normally monitor both Solano Primary and Suisun PD 1 (155.5200). They do this to be able to still talk with the other officers and continue normal police operations. Solano will dispatch off of the Suisun PD channel until everything is under control to the point where the channel can safely handle all county traffic.
When it comes to Suisun FD they staff the city 24 hrs all with volunteer firefighters. The Fire Department’s shifts are from 0600 hrs till 1800 hrs and 1800 Hrs till 0600 Hrs. Since they are dispatch by the same dispatch that dispatches for PD that schedule follows that of the Suisun PD dispatch schedule. When Solano takes over dispatching, the Fire Department does not switch to the County Frequencies to be dispatched to calls they remain on Suisun FD 1 (154.1750). The only time that they will change frequencies is to land a helicopter normally on Solano Fire 1 (153.8600) or they will go to a White Fire channel for major incidents. When they go to a White Fire channel the incident commander will normally monitor both Suisun FD 1 and the white fire channel. All communication with dispatch is done on Suisun FD 1. The reason that the Fire Department does not switch channels when the Sheriff department takes over dispatching is because their pagers only pick up the tones on Suisun FD 1 and 2.
